MMI As One model Learning Physics


INTRODUCTION
Physics is one branch of Natural Sciences (IPA) who studied the structure of matter and their interactions to understand the system of natural and artificial systems or technologies. Physics should not be difficult to study because all behavior can easily be met by real events. The situation in the school shows the difficulties students learn physics, because in physics to explain microscopic phenomena and abstract concepts and complex. This causes low student learning outcomes. Low interest in learning physics is one of the factors that lead to student learning outcomes that are less rendah.minat students because students are less interested in studying physics that caused teachers do not use the media that appeal to students during the learning process. Learning is an effort of educators so that learners can know and understand what is being learned by bringing the students to think.
Advances in technology are rapidly expanding influence in education. The education required to adapt to technological advances and information. Utilization of technological advances to increase efficiency and effectiveness of teaching and learning process. Advances in technology can be utilized as an interesting learning media to improve the quality of learning. Interactive multimedia (MMI) is an interesting model of technology-based learning. Interactive multimedia learning model (MMI) is defined as a learning model that can be used to deliver the message (message), stimulating thoughts, feelings, concerns and wishes of students so as to encourage the learning process.

Students will feel helped by the use of models of learning (interactive multimedia) MMI, in terms of visualizing the concepts that are abstract becomes more concrete. MMI learning model clearly consistent with the objectives of learning physics concepts in physics classes which embed both abstract and concrete. Technology mediated learning environments (learning model MMI) can increase the value of the students (the concept), their attitudes toward learning, and evaluation of their learning experience. Multimedia is used for learning media can improve student mastery of concepts with 95% confidence level. Computer-based interactive learning model can enhance the mastery of concepts, creative thinking skills and science process skills for students.

Media means 'middle', 'intermediate', or introductory message from the sender to the receiver of the message. In this sense teachers, textbooks, and a media environment. Media in teaching and learning is often defined as tools, graphic, photo or electronic graphics. AECT (Assciation of Education and Communications Technology, 1977) in giving restrictions on the media as forms and channels used to convey messages or information. While the definition of learning media are channels that convey messages from the message source (the teacher) to the message recipient (student) so as to increase the effectiveness of learning. Three reasons teachers use visual media in communicating are:


1. Attract the attention of students, the element is very important in learning because of the lack of concern arising out of motivation to learn.
2. Efficiency, visual images to communicate messages quickly and tangible, and can accelerate the understanding of messages in greater comprehension.
3. Effectively, the presentation through the media / visuals can make students more terkonsentri.
The types of media used should be appropriate to the material to be provided. Media that are designed to be grouped into three sections:
1.    Simple media,
2.    Three-dimensional media,

3.    Media Elktronik, include: OHP, Video / Television, Film, Audio, Multi Media (Computer, Power Point), and the Internet.


To select appropriate learning media teacher must understand how to target students and the nature of teaching materials. Since no one medium that is suitable for all areas of teaching materials then the teacher must always learn to follow the progress of science and technology that can assist teachers in preparing learning and can use properly, so that students learn to think creatively challenged. In terms of technological development according to Seels and Glasgow in (Azhar Arsyad, 2006) are grouped into the media, traditional media and cutting-edge media technology. Media cutting-edge technologies include: media-based telecommunications and media-based microprocessor (computer-assisted intrugtion, computer games, intelligence tutoring systems, Interactive, Hypermedia, Compact).
Use of computers for media education is often called learning with computer assistance (CAI) or Computer Assisted Learning (CAL). The definition of multi-media learning technology based electronics is to use Power Point program. Learning media power point presentation is not the only one but varied with the other media that are relevant and interesting.
Microsoft Power Point program is a presentation application program for learning, thus making the display on the projector screen turns. Each display is called a slide that can be inserted picture and sound. Media preparation steps was started by running the program power point, make a slide presentation, inserting animated according to the information displayed, can be coupled with sound from clip organizer so that the slide show is very interesting for students.
 Internet basically provides benefits include:
1.       Availability of e-moderating facility where teachers and students can communicate easily through the internet facility regularly or whenever the communication is done without being limited by distance, time and place.
2.      Teachers and students can use the materials or instructions to learn in a structured and scheduled through the internet, so that both can mutually assess the extent to which instructional materials studied;
3.      Students can learn or review the materials at any time and anywhere when needed considering the materials stored on the computer.
4.      If students need additional information relating to the material learned, he can access on the Internet more easily.
5.      Both teachers and students can have discussions over the Internet can be followed by the number of participants, thereby increasing knowledge and greater insight.
6.      The changing role of the students who are usually passive to active;

7.      Relatively more efficient. For example for those who live far from a conventional college or school, for those who are busy working, for those who served in the ship, overseas, etc. it.


The use of computers as a medium of learning has a format consisting of the presentation;
1.      Tutorial programmed, ie, a set of impressions both static and dynamic who had already been programmed,
2.       Tutorial intelligence, in this tutorial there is a dialogue between students and computers.
3.      Drill and practice, here the computer is used as a tool to train students to do practice questions from a question bank available on the internet site can be accessed using a computer where it is not necessarily in the classroom,
4.      Simulation, providing an opportunity to learn in a dynamic, interactive and personal.
The computer is also a tool that can be used as a learning method known as the method of computer asssisted learning (CAL). This method is used for structured learning activities, where the computer programmed with the problems which are structured according to the concepts that have been established in each curriculum subject. Students are required to solve the problem or find the answer by using the computer and immediately answers will be processed electronically and in a few seconds the student can already know the answers or the feedback response. In this case the CAL method can make the students' progress in mastering the material learned in accordance with the speed and capabilities of each in understanding the lessons learned.

Based on the usefulness of computers as described above, then it is appropriate that the computer can be used by teachers to help accelerated the process of learning physics both in the classroom in the form of structured learning programs and outside the classroom in the form of independent learning program. If this is taken by the teacher, the teacher should make use of the Internet as a learning resource for students independently. But in this Internet presence has not been common and has not been chosen by teachers for use on a regular basis and the maximum for learning purposes. Though there are many sites on the Internet that can be used for the purposes of learning physics both as a medium of learning, learning resources as well as standalone tutorials.



CONCLUSION


Interactive multimedia is to be applied in learning physics. Because the multimedia we can develop ways to learn students to learn creatively and independently. Besides, the application is also intended to foster student interest in learning fisika.karena perceived declining student interest because their paradigm that assumes that it is very difficult physics lesson denagn the most abstract material. Therefore this application can also hone the creativity of teachers to package learning materials as attractive as possible. The packaging material of interest will make happy and motivated students with a physics lesson presented by the teacher.
